Secy RDD tours Bandipora, assesses progress on implementation of various developmental schemes

Bandipora, Sep 8: Secretary in Rural Development Department (RDD), Tariq Ahmad Zargar Friday undertook a comprehensive tour of Bandipora district to assess the progress on implementation of various developmental schemes of RDD.
The Secretary was accompanied by Assistant Development Commissioner Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; ACP Bandipora Muzafar Ahamd; and other concerned officers of the Rural development and allied departments.
During the visit, he visited toured multiple blocks and villages within the district, including Sumbal and Arin Bandipora. He also interacted with local residents, Panchayat members and officials involved in the implementation of RDD schemes.
Interacting with the officers on the occasion, Tariq Ahmad stressed on the importance of inclusive development and the need to ensure that the benefits of RDD schemes reach every section of society, including marginalized communities.
During the visit, the Secretary also inspected ongoing projects in the district related to road, PMAY, SBM, construction, electrification and sanitation besides Amrit Sarovar. He stressed on the quality infrastructure for enhancing the overall living standards of rural residents.
The Secretary also reviewed the progress of employment generation programs under RDD like MGNREGA and discussed strategies to enhance job opportunities for the rural workforce. He directed BDOs and RDD staff to actively raise awareness among the general public about the importance of solid and liquid waste management. He stressed upon the concerned authorities to adopt a participatory approach by taking all stakeholders on board.
On the occasion, Tariq Zargar expressed satisfaction with the progress made in Bandipora district and said that the department is committed for comprehensive rural development.
