Fire incidents reduced in JK

The figures shared by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) is something to cheer about as the devastating fire incidents have reduced by 31 per cent as against 59000 incidents last, only 4000 incidents have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir, indicating awareness among the masses with regard to the fire incidents. The department has organized nearly 28000 events across Jammu and Kashmir in which the common masses were made aware about handling the situation during fire incidents and also the preventive measures. The situation has almost been controlled by the authorities by creating awareness among the masses, but there is a need to make sure that the people living in the congested areas particularly are given adequate knowledge about dousing off the flames as it could help prevent the major losses being witnessed frequently. It is the time when the authorities concerned need to come up with the awareness camps across the Old City areas here to ensure that the people are well aware about handling any untoward incident, which would ensure least loss in the incident and also help in saving the precious lives. Therefore, all the departments as well as the general public should cooperate with the Fire and Emergency Services at this juncture to reduce the number of fire incidents further and ensure there is no loophole while constructing new houses and buildings so that the chances of fire incidents to more than one structure is put to an immediate end.
