Career guidance can transform Kashmir’s young minds

The incumbent administration in Jammu & Kashmir has been keen to ensure that the common masses don’t feel any hesitation whenever there is a VVIP movement or any event. Recently, the government has directed that the vehicular movement of common masses must not be halted during any VVIP movement along the highway. Furthermore, a much-needed decision has been taken by the government, directing the school heads not to make students wait in queues to welcome guests. The School Education Department (SED) J&K has issued a stern warning to the heads of both private and government schools across the Valley with the instructions to do away with the practice of making students wait in queues for reception of guests and visiting officers. It added that forcing students to stand for extended periods disrupts their valuable learning time, hinders productivity and negatively impacts their self-esteem. It was indeed a wastage of time for the students as they were being forced to wait in the large queues to welcome the guests with bouquets and other related things, which is of no use. Instead of spending the time in their classes, the students were being asked to appease the visiting officer, which was certainly having a negative impact on the self-esteem of the future of the nation. Therefore, the decision taken by the government was much-needed and would bring a sigh of relief among the students as they will no longer be forced to appease the VVIPs on the directions of the school heads.
