IUST shortlists applicants for Registrar posts, highlights discrepancies

Srinagar, Oct 10: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), located in Awantipora announced the shortlisted candidates for the post of Registrar and also highlighted discrepancies on account of equivalence of degrees.
In response to advertisement notice No: 06 of 2023 dated July 28, 2023, the IUST released a notification revealing the preliminary screening report for candidates who have applied for the position of Registrar IUST.
The report is now available for public viewing on the university’s official website, www.iust.ac.in. According to the notification, approximately eight candidates have been shortlisted and deemed eligible for the prestigious position.
However, a significant concern has arisen regarding the equivalence of degrees held by one of the candidates, Dr. Maroof Naieem Qadri, the Director of Information Technology at Kashmir University, who is among the shortlisted individuals.
The notification issued by IUST specifies that Dr. Maroof Naieem Qadri’s eligibility for the post of Registrar at IUST is conditional upon the submission of documentary evidence demonstrating that his Executive MBA in IT Management is equivalent to a regular Postgraduate (PG) degree.
“Your eligibility is subject to the production of documentary evidence that the Executive MBA (IT Management) is equivalent to a regular PG degree,” the IUST notice reads.
Furthermore, IUST has invited objections and requested deficient documents from the shortlisted candidates, if any, to be submitted to the office of the Registrar IUST by October 31, 2023.
“Candidates are required to provide documentary proof to support their claims. After the deadline, no claims will be entertained, and the university will not accept any responsibility for lapses on the part of the candidates that may affect their eligibility due to the non-submission of relevant documents within the stipulated time frame,” the IUST notice reads.
