Annual Urs of Sheikh Noor-u-Din Noorani (RA) observed with religious fervor

Budgam, Oct 13: The annual Urs of Sheikh Noor-u-Din Noorani (RA), popularly known as Sheikh-ul-Alam, was observed at Chrar-e-Sharief in Budgam district on Friday with religious fervour.
Nund Reshi (RA), a saint in Kashmir, is highly revered by both Muslims and Hindus.
Thousands of devotees from across the valley thronged at Chrar-e-Sharief shrine where special prayers, salutations, and supplications were held.
On the occasion, the religious scholars threw light on the life, religious services, teachings and spiritual strength of the saint, who had devoted his entire life to the preaching of Islam.
The devotees were seen reciting Darood and Naats. Special prayers were held for the peace and prosperity of J&K.
Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakshan Andrabi visited shrine today and took inspection of arrangements done by the administration.
She said that JK Waqf board has done tremendous job since its formation and there is more to do for development of these shrines and Masjids.
