Anantnag, Jun 30: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) in a meeting of block presidents and prominent workers on Wednesday reviewed the organizational affairs and activities in Anantnag & Kulgam districts.
According to a statement, JKPCC also debated and discussed the current situation, besides the problems confronting people also came under discussion, terming the absence of elected Govt in J&K as very sad and unfortunate.
JKPCC president Ghulam Ahmad Mir in a meeting of prominent party workers at Khanabal Anantnag reviewed the organizational affairs and activities in twin districts of Anantnag and Kulgam, besides holding threadbare discussions over the hardships confronting people in absence of elected government.
He also received feedback from the party workers with regard to issues especially developmental in both districts, regretting that the tall claims made by the Govt from to time have fallen flat, as that there was a huge disconnect to be seen between people and the administration, which was source behind non execution of developmental works and non-implementation of other Govt decisions of public importance, he said.
Bureaucracy could not be alternative to elected Govt in which the elected representatives were bound to remain accountable and answerable to people, more significantly the Govt remain reachable to common people to listen and address their grievances, but sadly everything has changed since the dissolution of the J&K Legislature, leading to the chaos and confusion across J&K, JKPCC president rued.
Congress party will continue to oppose anti people and wrong decision of the Govt, besides highlighting people’s needs for their resolution, Mir added and emphasized the party cadres to remain committed to the cause of serving people.
Mir also expressed serious concern over the losses caused to trade, tourism, transport, education and other sectors and said the Pandemic added more losses to these sectors, emphasizing the government to take effective measures to compensate the affected people to ensure that they were able to resume their activities and earn their livelihood.
Senior party leader Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Farooq Ahmad Bhat (DCC Presidents), Shaheena Nadaf, Mohd Iqbal Mir, Mushtaq Pahalgami, Block Presidents and prominent leaders also addressed the meeting.
