In yet another instance, the claims of the authorities got exposed after the fresh rainfall inundated the roads in Srinagar as it was being claimed that the measures have been taken already to ensure the sufferings of people are put to an end. However, the poor drainage system has yet again pushed the people to the wall as the intermittent rainfall from Thursday evening has caused water logging in many areas here, due to which the commuters as well as the pedestrians faced tremendous hardships. The repairing of drainage system was taken up by the officials soon after the corporators were elected by the people in the previously held Urban Local Body polls, claiming everything is up to the mark now, but such instances have exposed the things before the people as there is no end to their sufferings. The water logging was also witnessed at some places where the potholes roads exist. The inundated water filled the potholes, causing severe hardships to the people. It is unfortunate that despite sending a hefty sum, the people, especially the pedestrians have to face a difficult time while passing through these roads and areas as the defunct drainage system as well as the potholed roads according to them has been continuously pushing them to the wall. It is the time when the government needs to look into the matter and make sure that such areas are identified at earliest and the immediate and necessary measures are taken to ensure that the sufferings of people, especially commuters are put to an immediate end.
