Bandipora, Nov 24: Over 70 families in the Baniyari area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district expressed their dissatisfaction with the administration, stating that they have been waiting for the installment of the PMAY Scheme since 2011.
According to locals, over 70 families in the area have been waiting for houses under the PMAY Scheme since 2011. “However, the Rural Development Department has not taken significant steps to address this issue, causing numerous problems for the poor residents in the area,” they said.
Residents in the area have urged the district administration, particularly Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad, to intervene and resolve the issue. They are seeking the prompt release of their PMAY installments to enable them to construct their houses.
“We have been waiting for the installment for years now. Despite numerous visits to the officials, there has been no progress,” said Gulam Ahmad, a local resident.
“The administration should address this issue promptly, providing relief to deserving people who have been waiting for years,” he added.
“For the past several years, we have been planning to start the construction work for our house, but due to the lack of seriousness from the administration, it hasn’t happened so far,” remarked Ishfaq Ahmad, another local resident
An official said that residents are facing land-related issues. He assured that once the land is allocated to the beneficiaries, the PMAY Scheme installments will be provided.
