Public darbars in far-off villages

In what could be termed as a significant step towards ensuring good governance, the public darbars are turning out to be a major reason behind the success of the incumbent regime in Jammu and Kashmir, who have started a massive darbars across the Union Territory with an aim to listen to the issues of people and get them resolved at the shortest possible time. The initiative of reaching to the people has proven a fruitful exercise as the process is bringing governance closer to the public. To add more colors to the process, the administration has directed Administrative Secretaries to conduct Public Durbars in various districts of Jammu & Kashmir, to achieve its goal of ensuring early redressal of the grievances of the public. Such a step is set to put an end to the sufferings of people, hailing in different areas of J&K. But such a process needs to be accelerated in the far-off villages, especially those close to the Line of Control. The development deficit has remained in these areas for a longer period; thereby the people living in these areas also deserve the proper facilities, respect and care. It is the time when the government needs to pace up its public darbar activities in the villages so that the grievance redressal is done at a faster speed and the people could heave a sigh of relief. The Administrative Secretaries must be directed to visit these places at least twice in a week so that the demands of people in these areas are fulfilled in a shortest span of time.
