Baramulla, Dec 15: Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Friday arrived in Urban Areas of Baramulla district after successfully culminating in its objective in rural areas of the district.
The Yatra, with its primary objective to educate the public about the various government welfare schemes, witnessed an exceptional community engagement and raised significant awareness across the municipal areas within the district.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla, Tehsildar Baramulla, CEO Municipal Council Baramulla and others, today led Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Cariapa Park, Baramulla.
At the event, Dr. Sehrish inspected multiple stalls set up by various departments, including Education, Agriculture, Health, ICDS and Food Supplies among others. These stalls showcased a wide range of government schemes, services, and facilities aimed at benefiting the public.
Dr. Sehrish, accompanied by other officials and the public, eagerly watched Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech on a mounted LED screen atop an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) van.
Following that, the DC administered a pledge, encouraging both officers and the assembled public to affirm their dedication to the nation’s unity and advancement.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sehrish highlighted the basic objective of the VBSY, which is to saturate crucial government run beneficiary schemes at grass roots level.
The DC further said that the administration is diligently working to extend the benefits of various schemes such as Ujwala, Vishwakarma, Ayushman and others directly to the public’s doorstep.
Dr. Sehrish also encouraged the public to actively engage in accessing the benefits of these schemes, highlighting their pivotal role in promoting inclusive development for everyone.
Later, the DC distributed Gas Connections, Sanction Letters, Land Passbooks, Ayush Cards and other certificates among various eligible beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the VBSY also expanded to other Municipal areas of the district with officials continuing engaging with the community and disseminating information to the public about vital government run beneficiary schemes.
