Sopore, Dec 16: Authorities in Sopore here have introduced solar road reflectors on medians to reduce the risk of traffic accidents.
The authorities here have installed the reflectors equipped with solar panels, harnessing renewable energy from the sun to power LED lights.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Municipal Council Sopore, Tariq Ahmed Reshi acknowledged that the road dividers across the town were causing inconvenience to travellers.
He said the LED lights embedded in the reflectors are going to enhance the visibility on the road, making it easier for the drivers to navigate, which would help in reducing the number of accidents.
