Admin committed towards enhancing healthcare facilities across JK: Bhatnagar

Udhampur, Dec 23: In order to have the first hand appraisal of prestigious project of Government Medical College Udhampur, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar conducted a detailed inspection of the project to review the progress of ongoing works.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Saloni Rai; Principal GMC Udhampur, senior officers of Public Works, health and other allied departments accompanied the Advisor during the visit.
During the inspection, the Advisor meticulously reviewed the progress of each component of the project and engaged in thorough deliberations with workmen to address any kind hindrances hampering the smooth execution of the project.
While reviewing the progress of works, Advisor Bhatnagar stressed upon the officers of executing agency to expedite the pace of works and ensure its completion as per the given timelines. He called upon them to monitor the progress on regular basis besides directing them to deploy additional manpower at construction sites for timely completion of this project.
The Advisor also asked the Deputy Commissioner to monitor the progress on fortnightly basis, ensuring the timely completion of this prestigious project through effective coordination with executing agencies.
Interacting with the officers on the occasion, the Advisor made out that the present LG led Administration is committed towards enhancing healthcare facilities across J&K and in last four years significant improvement has been witnessed in terms of establishment of world class healthcare services in the UT.
He also highlighted the significance of GMC Udhampur in bolstering healthcare services in the district and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art facilities for medical education and patient care.
During the inspection, the officers of executing agency briefed the Advisor about the present status of ongoing works.
