DEO Ganderbal reviews preparedness for Lok Sabha polls

Ganderbal, Dec 28: In order to review the preparedness for upcoming General Elections 2024, an important meeting was held Thursday under the chairmanship of District Election Officer (DEO) Ganderbal, Shyambir here.
At the outset, the DEO took a detailed review and emphasized on a comprehensive SVEEP plan, Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) of polling stations, identification of village wise icons etc.
The Chief Education Officer, who is also the Nodal Officer SVEEP was directed for submission of a comprehensive SVEEP plan and was asked to start SVEEP activities in such polling areas where less than 10% voter turnout was observed in the last concluded Lok Sabha Election held in 2019.
Furthermore, ACR Ganderbal and SDM Kangan who are the AROs/ EROs were asked to submit the status of polling stations including AMF details.
During the course of the meeting, necessary instructions were passed to ACD and Ex. Engineer REW Ganderbal for constructing Ramps etc.
Furthermore, directions were passed for nomination/ identification of village wise icons as per the ECI directions so that their services are utilized in order to enhance the EP ratio in the district.
The chair expressed hope that the interventions made by the District Administration would result in a significant increase in voter registration and turnout, increase the youth participation in the electoral process, involvement of weaker sections in the electoral process, rectification of discrepancies and upholding of highest standards of fairness during the entire election process.
The meeting was attended by Dy. District Election Officer, Abid Iqbal Malik; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Altaf Ahmad Bhat; Sub Divisional Magistate Kangan, Javaid Ahmad Rather; Assistant Commissioner Development Ganderbal, Bashir Ahmad; Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, Ex. Engineer REW Ganderbal, and Dy. Chief Education officer, Ganderbal.
