Pulwama, Jan 5: Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) after successfully traversing all Panchayats and Municipalities in the district, has now embarked its journey to the village level.
The latest chapter unfolded today at Government Higher Secondary School Dadasara, where the program received overwhelming participation despite challenging cold weather conditions.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom graced the event along with ADDC Pulwama, ADC Tral and District and Sectoral officers.
Dr Basharat showcased commendable sportsmanship by actively participating in badminton alongside students. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as students engaged in a spirited Tug of War competition.
The event featured informative stalls from various Government departments, illustrating the positive impact of their schemes on the lives of the people. DC conducted a thorough inspection, gaining insights into the schemes contributing to the area’s development.
A significant highlight of the program was the playback of a recorded message from Hon’ble Prime Minister, which resonated deeply with the attentive audience. The event continued with the administration of the Sankalp pledge by the DC, embraced by the community, aligning with the ideals of VBSY.
Cultural richness took center stage with a captivating cultural song, showcasing the vibrant traditions of the region. ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ provided a platform for beneficiaries to share personal stories of positive transformation brought about by Government interventions.
Addressing the gathering, DC commended the community’s tenacity, noting that the warmth of their participation in the face of cold adversity mirrors the profound connection between Government initiatives and their aspirations. Together, he stated, they embody the essence of VBSY.
The DC, in his remarks, further expressed confidence in the continued success of VBSY, attributing its achievements to the synergy between the Government’s endeavors and the resilient community of Pulwama. He provided insights into the Yatra’s significant milestones, having traversed all Panchayats, Municipalities, and now reaching the villages.
He emphasized that the core objective remains the saturation of Government schemes and reaching to the last person in the line.
The event concluded with the felicitation of beneficiaries under schemes like Ujjwala and Jal Jeevan Mission. Additionally, the cricket and cultural teams were acknowledged for their achievements, further reinforcing the transformative spirit of VBSY.
