Macadamization of City roads: No plans anywhere

Indeed, Srinagar is considered as the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. But, the capital has been high and dry as its roads in the interiors are still painting a grim picture of the non-seriousness of the government especially the concerned authorities, who have been authorized to take care of such issues. As the development remained the war cry here, but the concerned Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) seems to have been in deep slumber as it has failed so far to take the steps with regard to the macadamization of the interior roads. The City roads are already congested, but the potholed condition is adding to the miseries of the commuters. It has been a long time since the interior roads in the Srinagar City have been macadamized. One fails to understand why the City dwellers have been ignored for a longer period now. The roads usually remain flooded with the vehicles, thus resulting in frequent traffic congestion. There has been no end to the sufferings of the people due to the shambles condition of the interior City roads. Keeping in view, the concerned authorities should take immediate and necessary steps with regard to the blacktopping of the interior roads across Srinagar City, so that the people especially the commuters living here could heave a sigh of relief. The miseries must come to an end and the steps in this regard are pivotal and need of the hour.
