Srinagar, Feb 8: The death toll in Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar terrorist attack on Thursday reached two as the injured civilian, hailing from Amritsar, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital here, officials said.
Pertinently, two non-locals identified as Amritpal Singh (31) and Rohit (27), both hailing from Amritsar, Punjab were fired upon by the terrorists in Shaheed Gunj, resulting in on spot death of Amritpal and injuries to Rohit, who was evacuated to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries this morning.
As per the details available, both the slain non-locals were working as carpenters.
Meanwhile, the body of Amritpal Singh reached his native village today, where the cremation took place.
Moreover, the body of Rohit is expected to reach Amritsar by tomorrow where the last rites will be held.
