Srinagar, Feb 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has proposed to merge its branch offices at Tehsil level with Sub Offices at district headquarters.
In this regard the board has sought a feasibility report from the committee constituted by the authorities.
BOSE Assistant Secretary in a communiqué said, “Branch offices were established across J&K at Tehsil levels in various districts by the JKBOSE in order to provide its services to the stakeholders at their door steps which were offered in physical and manual mode.”
“In view of the transition made by the JKBOSE in offering its services from manual to online and digital mode particularly with regard to the basic activities of examination and other related services, the footfall of the stakeholders in the offices has become very low thus their existence has now become more or less redundant in the districts across J&K,” it reads.
Accordingly, BOSE said that in order to downsize the number of offices in a district, it is contemplating to merge the fifteen branch offices with the concerned districts and sub-offices of JKBOSE, wherefrom they were carved out at the time of their establishment.
BOSE said that before issuance of formal orders in this regard it has constituted committees who shall submit the feasibility report for the proposed merger. “The committee shall submit its report within three weeks positively.”
