Jammu, Feb 23: Commissioner Secretary, Tourism and Mission Director Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP), Yasha Mudgal, Friday chaired a meeting to assess progress on implementation of HADP in Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was among others attended by Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) Kashmir, senior professors from SKUAST Jammu, Director Agriculture Kashmir, representative of BISAG, members of Project Monitoring Units and other senior officers of APD, both in person and via video conferencing.
Various presentations were delivered during the session, focusing on evaluation of progress pertaining to practical demonstrations, video productions and development of new skilling courses.
Emphasizing the urgency, Yasha Mudgal exhorted upon the participants to accelerate the production of practical videos and the design of new skill courses to ensure timely validation for demonstration to farmers.
In addition to deliberations on topics such as Kisan Khidmat Ghar registration and Daksh Kisan, the meeting also discussed diverse action plans concerning projects slated for implementation in the Union Territory.
Highlighting the significance of establishing ‘Kisan Khidmat Ghars’, Yasha Mudgal underscored that this initiative would catalyze a paradigm shift in the agricultural landscape of the region. She characterized the HADP as a transformative mission aimed at fostering holistic development in agriculture and allied sectors throughout Jammu and Kashmir, envisaging the union territory’s transition into a sustainable commercial agri-economy.
Yasha Mudgal asked the officers to adopt a mission oriented approach and foster a coordinated effort to accomplish the plan’s objectives effectively. She encouraged thorough consultation with all stakeholders to ensure comprehensive integration of agricultural and allied sector perspectives into the plan’s framework.
