Pulwama, Feb 24: In an to engage with the local community and address their concerns, Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce (I&C), Vikramjit Singh, Saturday convened an extensive public outreach camp here to assess and address public grievances besides taking stock of development activities in the district.
The event provided a platform for the residents to voice their issues, grievances and seek solution from the government authorities.
The people and the PRI representatives projected various issues concerning socio-economic development of their respective areas with emphasis on infrastructure and basic public services.
During the programme, Vikramjit Singh listened to the problems and challenges being faced by the general public while assuring them timely redressal of the same. He also sought feedback from the participants regarding the status of implementation of various Centre and Ut sponsored welfare and development programmes.
The Commissioner Secretary had an interactive session with the attendees facilitating a direct dialogue between the government representative and the local residents, fostering transparency, accountability and community participation in governance. He encouraged constructive feedback and suggestions from the attendees, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to address the needs and aspirations of the citizens effectively.
Vikramjit Singh reiterated government’s commitment towards inclusive development of every nook and corner of the UT and emphasized the significance of responsive governance in meeting the evolving needs of the people. He assured the public of government’s continued support and urged upon them to continue sharing their feedback and concerns for collective progress and welfare.
Earlier, the Commissioner Secretary inspected stalls set up by various departments and assessed the progress made under different schemes, focusing on achieving the predetermined targets. He enquired about the status of saturation level achieved under various government schemes.
Later, the Commissioner Secretary distributed felicitation certificates, sanction letters among the selected beneficiaries under various centrally sponsored schemes. These schemes are aimed and empowering marginalized communities, promoting entrepreneurship and enhancing skill development.
DDC Chairperson also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom, elaborately explained the status of development works being executed in the district besides highlighting progress achieved under various government schemes
