Get children vaccinated

The campaign has been started by the health department as nearly 19 lakh children under the age of five are set to receive immunisation across Jammu and Kashmir on March 3, 2024 – the day which is observed as the National Immunisation Day. Thousands of booths have been set up across the Union Territory to ensure that all the children under the age of five will be immunized on the particular day. 45,000 healthcare workers have been tasked to vaccinate the children and on the subsequent dates—March 04 and 05, the healthcare workers have been tasked to conduct door-to-door visits to reach every eligible child. The immunization is aimed to save lives as it helps to protect the child against the diseases that can cause serious harm or death, especially in people with developing immune systems like infants. Every parent and the guardian have a responsibility to vaccinate their children as it helps to keep the highly contagious diseases such as measles, diphtheria and polio away. Although some experts believe that the vaccine can be delayed, at the same time, most of them believe that one of the best ways to protect the child is to follow the recommended vaccine schedule in the country. Immunization schedules vary by country depending on which diseases are most prevalent. Delaying the vaccine can lead to the risk of diseases to the children, thus it is imperative to get the children vaccinated at the appropriate time. The parents should not act negligently but should turn up at the booths on March 3, 2024 (Sunday) to get the children immunized.
