Srinagar, Feb 29: A massive fire incident that broke out in Jamalata area of Nawa Kadal in Srinagar claimed the life of a house owner on Thursday late evening, while three residential houses were also gutted in the incident, officials said.
At least three residential houses were damaged after a massive fire broke out in Jamalata, Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar.
An official said that the house owner, identified as Bashir Ahmad Banday, son of Mohammad Yousuf Banday, died during the incident while three residential houses were also damaged in Nawa Kadal area.
The officials added that the house owner, who was stuck inside his home, lost his life during the incident, as he could not manage to escape from the house on time.
Meanwhile, the official added that the fire has been doused off and the exact cause of the fire is being ascertained.
