Srinagar, Jul 15: As the guns of two neighboring countries India and Pakistan have fallen silent, the border residents in the three north Kashmir districts are gearing up to host more visitors and guests on the auspicious occasion of Edi-Ul-Adha.
The recent cease-fire between India and Pakistan has brought an end to the unease and threat of the nearly past three decades with special occasions and border tourism returning to the affected areas and people living a life full of joy and happiness without any fear hovering over the border regions.
The representatives of three border districts including Baramulla, Bandipora, and Kupwara in the north Kashmir belt said that they are hopeful of a special Eid-Ul-Adha after so many years as residents are expecting more flow of relatives, visitors, and their guests with peaceful environment maintained for past many months now.
Shahid Ahmad a Sarpanch of the Nambla area in Uri of Baramulla district said that people are happy ever since the recent ceasefire understanding between the two neighboring countries with which special occasions have returned to remote areas.
“People including relatives, guests, sightseers, trekkers, and night campaigners have started to visit the border areas without any threat or fear while the security forces remain deployed to undertake their duties but allow people to visit the unexplored places,” he said.
Shahid said that there is no denial in saying that on the coming Eid-Ul-Adha more guests will be visiting border areas without any fear.
Aijaz Ahmad Raja the District Development Council (DDC) member Tulail in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district said that ever since the recent ceasefire understanding between the two neighboring countries people in border areas have started to live a life without any fear or threat and peacefully.
Raja said that the Covid-19 situation is also coming under considerable control and people are happy resulting in more flow of tourists to the sector as everything is going on smoothly.
He said that on this Eid more people will be visiting the sector and with the efforts of different stakeholders the border tourism has started to take place and a huge number of visitors are expected in the coming days.
Several representatives from border areas of the Kupwara district said that the situation close to the border has improved to a greater extent after the recent ceasefire agreement between the governments of India and Pakistan with which the people living close to the fence are living at peace.
They said that people have started to visit frontier areas to enjoy the natural beauty and even many come for a couple of days and night stays as the atmosphere is very peaceful.
“On the forthcoming Eid, more guests are expected by the residents as people living in towns and cities intend to explore the beautiful virgin places located in these remote areas of Tangdhar, Keran, and other places,” the representatives said.
They demanded that the motorable road to potent tourist destination be completed in shortest possible time so that more people are attracted to frontier district Kupwara that will open up more opportunists for locals in time to come.
