Keep Kashmir connected

The Muslims across the globe are set to celebrate the holy festival, Eid-ul-Fitr next month, but some of the people who cannot afford to buy essentials, food stuff, clothes and other related things to celebrate the occasion are supposed to get the handhold of the community. Similarly in Jammu and Kashmir, there are people like the underprivileged, Orphans, who need the handholding; thereby the religious leaders have appealed the people to Sadaqat-ul-Fitr to the deserving lot. Earlier, it was informed that the people need to pay Rs 70 per person in the family as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr, but now it has been clarified by the top religious leaders that the Fitr amount ranges from Rs 70 to Rs 1025 per person depending upon the financial position of the family. Rs 70 is for the poor lot who are fighting hard to make their both ends meet. Similarly, Rs 750 (which is equivalent to 3 kgs of Cheese) is for the rich class and Rs 1025 is for the richest class per soul (as per 3 kg rate of raisins). However, some issues need to be understood that the beggars don’t deserve the Sadaqat-ul-Fitr and thus it is prohibited to give the Fitr amount to them as it would not serve the cause for which the Fitr has been mandated to the Muslims community. Moreover, the community needs to understand that the Fitr should be cleared days before the Eid so that the poor section of the society will not face difficulties while celebrating the festival.
