Bandipora, Apr 15: The District Election Officer (DEO) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman on Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review preparedness for General Election to Lok Sabha-2024 in the district.
The meeting discussed various aspects of the election preparedness including security situation, critical polling stations, MCC guidelines, responsibilities and preparedness of AROs, transport arrangements, SVEEP activities, Expenditure Monitoring, Welfare Measures, pink polling stations, functioning of control rooms, MCMC and communication plan etc.
The meeting also discussed preparations to ensure accuracy and inclusivity, verifying the setup and accessibility of polling stations, and assessing the training of election staff to handle diverse scenarios effectively.
Nodal Officer MCC, on the occasion, informed the chair that the complaints received by the MCC team are disposed-off within 24 hours, and proper procedures are adopted to provide permission for election related activities.
The DEO on the occasion emphasized maintaining effective communication throughout the electoral process.
Highlighting measures such as comprehensive reviews, training sessions, logistical preparations, and coordination efforts, the DEO stressed on ensuring readiness for conducting free, fair, and transparent elections.
He emphasized Election Nodal Officers to work diligently and with dedication for successful execution of election related assignments.
Reviewing the status of SVEEP activities, the DEO urged the SVEEP team to adopt innovative strategies to ensure higher participation and enhance voter awareness.
The DEO, on the occasion, directed the concerned to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in all the polling stations for Voter Convenience and Accessibility.
The arrangements for home voting and pink polling stations were also discussed in the meeting.
Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC, M Ashraf; ADC (Nodal Officer MCC), Umar Shafi Pandit; Superintendent of Police, Shafaat Mohammad; Deputy District Election Officer, Mohammad Rafeeq Bhat; ACR (ARO 15-Bandipora), Shabir Ahmad Wani; ACD (Nodal Officer EVMs), Mumtaz Ahmad Pir; Sub Divisional Magistrate Gurez (ARO 16- Gurez) Election Nodal Officers and other concerned.
