Doctors: The heartbeat of our healthcare system

The traffic scenario has worsened in parts of Srinagar city where the commuters continue to remain stuck for hours together, leading to the suffering people, travelling to and from the main business hub—Lal Chowk area here. The situation is getting even worse during rains as the potholed roads filled with the muddy water is giving tough times to the commuters and pedestrians alike to travel or walk through these routes. In the peak hours especially, it takes nearly an hour to reach Lal Chowk from the main town downtown areas where the government is presently busy with redesigning of roads. Many of these roads, especially in Karan Nagar area from Kaka Sarai to the main market, are under construction for the last several months and the congested road at present is pushing the commuters to the wall. One fails to understand why it is taking so long to end up the miseries of the people by redesigning the road at earliest as the present situation has become a headache for the regular commuters as it consumes their lot of time to reach their respective destinations, especially in the morning and evening hours. The concerned Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) officials must direct the executing agencies to speed up the pace of the work, so that the sufferings of people are put to an immediate end. The concerned should ensure that the busiest roads are completed at earliest on priority so that the commuters and pedestrians could heave a sigh of relief.
