In yet another instance of sufferings for the Hajj pilgrims, who recently left from Srinagar International Airport to Saudi Arabia, have reportedly faced hardships as the pilgrims have been forced to spend the entire night in a bus while no arrangements were made for them, even they didn’t even get the food and other essentials to end their thirst and starvation. If reports are to be believed, the scheduled flight on May 12, 2024, was meant to land in Madina. However, due to heavy rainfall, the flight had to be diverted to Jeddah airport. Upon landing, the pilgrims were boarded onto a bus, which remained parked near the airport for the entire night. Shockingly, the pilgrims were left without food and water, spending the first night of the holy pilgrimage in distress. Such a treatment meted out to the pilgrims has indicated the arrangements made for the pilgrims this year. The accusations and allegations must be investigated thoroughly and in case the accusations are proven right, the concerned officials must be dealt with strictly so that the pilgrims will not face any kind of hardships during their journey in Makkah and Madina. Keeping in view the claims made by the pilgrims there, the concerned officials should gear up and make elaborate arrangements for the pilgrims so that the journey to the picturesque and sacred places will be easy for them. Despite paying a hefty sum for the journey, it stands the responsibility of the concerned authorities to make sure that the pilgrims will not face any hardships and every possible arrangements are made for them so that their ‘Arkans’ (activities) during the pilgrimage will not get affected.
