Child Line observes Int’l Day of ‘Innocent Children victim of Aggression’ at Ramban

Ramban, Jun 4: Child Helpline Ramban Tuesday organized an awareness program on International Day of ‘Innocent Children Victim of Aggression’ at New Convent High School.
The Program hosted on the direction of District Child Protection Officer Ramban, Rahul Gupta, was aimed to highlight the pain suffered by children through mental, physical and emotional abuse across the world. Through this program students were sensitized to prevent children from becoming the victim of these issues.
During the program JJB Member Anjum Shafi briefed the Children about the International Day of Children Victim of Aggression and working of the Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board and District Child Protection Unit at the District for the welfare of Children.
Suneha Pran educated participants about the services of the special cell, its location in the police station and the role of social workers. Social workers also educated the participants regarding the daily abuse faced by the children and discussed gender sensitization, Cyber Safety, Cyber Crime etc. Speakers informed them about various government running schemes for children and shared the contact number of the Special Cell for Women in Ramban.
Project Coordinator Child Helpline Highlighted the significance of safeguarding children from different forms of exploitation, abuse, and neglect and also Sensitized Children about working of Child Helpline and 24×7 Child Helpline No. 1098 and urged them to call anytime whenever the help is needed.
The officials present during the program were Shahnaz Wani JJB Member, Mrs Pooja Devi Counsellor, CHL Zaheer Abass Supervisor, and Mrs Tasleema Akhter Social Worker Special Cell for Women.
Moreover, the Head of the Institution commended the efforts of the Child Helpline team and acknowledged the importance of such programs in educating and empowering children.
