Jammu, Jun 6: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday thanked people of Union Territory for their support in Lok Sabha Elections and hope that this support will continue in ensuing Assembly Polls stating that honest and nationalistic leadership will emerge victorious.
Addressing a press conference, Ravinder Raina, President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir, said “BJP is highly grateful to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their support in Lok Sabha Elections.
He added the party has secured a satisfying win in the just concluded Parliament elections, wherein Dr. Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma secured consecutive third win in their respective constituencies. He said the party received the overwhelming support of the voters of both Parliamentary constituencies which translated into this victory. He also expressed gratitude to the senior citizens, first time voters, women and all the sections of voters for this support.
The BJP President also expressed gratitude to the residents of Anantnag, Rajouri, Poonch, Baramulla, Kulgam and all other areas, where the party got the support of the people, especially the local youth. Raina added that the BJP has gained a massive support from the Kashmir region and marched towards a stronger base and expressed hope that the day is not far when the BJP will win Parliament and Assembly seats in the Kashmir region.
Raina also said that the way people participated in the election clearly shows the confidence among people. Raina said that in the upcoming assembly elections, panchayat, and urban local body polls, an honest and nationalistic leadership will emerge victorious. Those who propagate politics of venom and division have been shown the mirror by the people, he said.
“In the upcoming assembly elections, panchayat, and urban local body polls, we hope for an honest and nationalistic leadership to emerge victorious. Those who propagate politics of venom and division have been shown the mirror by the people,” Raina said.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina also said Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has worked hard for the prosperity of the Union territory.
Raina’s remarks came in response to a post on X by National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah in which he said that Sinha had not only failed Jammu and Kashmir but had also undermined the BJP in his home constituency of Ghazipur.
Raina, while answering a query said that the political remarks are meant for politics, but Omar Abdullah knows it well that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has built a new and happy Jammu and Kashmir where everyone, including marginalized sections, has been given their rights. This effort has resulted in record polling (in the Lok Sabha polls). Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has worked hard to make J&K a prosperous region, he added.
Abdullah knows well the difficult situation that Jammu and Kashmir faced in the past, the BJP leader said.
“People saw the worst times during strikes and shutdowns when schools, colleges and markets were closed and violence was rampant,” the BJP leader said.
In the past, every time a vehicle left for Kashmir from Jammu, the passengers had to get down and undergo checking at 20 places on the way, he said.
“Today, there is peace, progress, happiness, brotherhood and largescale development in both villages and cities,” he added.
Raina credited the security forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for ensuring incident-free Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We also thank Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his role in making Jammu and Kashmir peaceful, progressive and prosperous,” he said.
He said that Abdullah is well acquainted with the difficult situation that existed in Jammu and Kashmir in the past and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and LG Manoj Sinha for the successful return of democracy in Jammu & Kashmir.
He recalled that earlier bandh calendar was issued in the valley, buses from Jammu to Kashmir were checked at multiple places, there was constant fear of bomb blasts, but today, there is visible development, increased tourist footfall due to the efforts of PM Modi, HM Amit Shah and LG Manoj Sinha.
He also congratulated the other 3 elected MPs from Jammu & Kashmir for their victory in Lok Sabha elections and said that people have slayed many big wigs in this election with the power of their vote. He also thanked the people for voting in the favour of the BJP supported candidate in the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliament segment.
He said that while NDA has secured a clear victory for the third time under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress leading INDI alliance has suffered yet another defeat in this Parliament election. He added that the whole of India is today celebrating the victory of the Modi government for the successive third term. He also expressed hope that the Modi government will lead Bharat to more achievements in this term.
