Over one lakh devotees throng Baba Nagri shrine in Kangan on annual Urs

Ganderbal, Jun 8: Around one Lac devotees from different parts of the country including Jammu & Kashmir visited Baba Nagri in Kangan, Ganderbal to pay obeisance at the Dargah of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din Kiyani (RA).
The 127th annual Urs of Hazrat Nizam-ud-Din Kiyanvi (RA) was celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety.
On the concluding day, special prayers were held in which the devotees prayed for peace, prosperity, unity, brotherhood, and communal harmony.
Besides other religious personalities, Sajadah Nisheen Mian Altaf Ahmad, while addressing the congregation, highlighted the life and contribution of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din (RA) and his successor Mian Bashir Ahmed.
He emphasized upon people to work for the welfare of humanity and follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Devotees expressed their satisfaction and were overwhelmed after attending the special prayers, saying that they will follow the teachings of Hazrat Baba Nizam-ud-Din (RA) and will work for the welfare of humanity.
Around one Lac devotees from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir thronged at the saint’s shrine at Baba Nagri Kangan.
The annual Urs started on June 6 and concluded on June 8 while night-long prayers as well as the special prayers were organized on Saturday.
While talking to reporters, Sajadah Nisheen Mian Altaf Ahmad said Baba Nagri usually witnesses a huge rush of devotees on the occasion of Urs Mubarak and this year, the rush of people was more compared to the previous years.
Our management here was well-prepared, and full-fledged arrangements were made for locals to prevent them from inconvenience, he said.
