When answers raise more questions

The ongoing works have caused huge distress to the commuters as the dilapidated road conditions have led to the sufferings at most of the places in Srinagar City areas. However, keeping in view the sufferings of people, the divisional administration to enforce the streamline of traffic movement on important roads to end recurring traffic Jams, has asked the concerned to complete the macadamization of the vital roads within two days only. Strict directions have been passed to Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL) officers to complete macadamization of roads within two days and also admonished officers for slow upgradation and developmental activities. However, the urgent need of macadamization of the vital roads is imperative and needs to be taken at this juncture so that the people, especially the daily commuters could heave a sigh of relief. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V K Bidhuri as per an official communiqué visited Ghat-1 & Ghat-2 near Nehru Park on Boulevard a few days back to explore the viability of widening the road to create a bus-bay for vehicles for de-boarding of tourists to streamline the movement of traffic on the road. On the occasion, he directed CE R&B to create a space by narrowing down the width of footpaths on either side of the road so that the issue of traffic congestion at the site shall be addressed. Such issues need to be addressed on priority for the wellbeing of the people and these measures will end the regular traffic congestion along the vital roads in Srinagar City. The government needs to identify all such roads where the macadamization as well as the road widening measures is imperative.
