Authorities ban use of two-wheelers by minor students during school hours in Kupwara

Kupwara, Jul 15: Authorities in Kupwara district have asked the Chief Education Officer to not allow students to use Motorbikes and Scoties during school hours.
Additional District Magistrate Kupwara has issued a circular in this regard.
The circular read that a large number of complaints are making rounds in media and social circles about the rash driving stunt biking and reckless movement of two-wheelers by school boys studying in the Government and private schools without any objection or control from the Head of the Institutions resulting into accidents which is otherwise avoidable and needs proper counseling, advice and blanket ban in and around school premises.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kupwara, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic Kupwara, and Assistant Regional Transport officer Kupwara have been requested to sensitize all the Head of the Institutions not to allow any student below the age of 18 years to use any bike and scooty during the school hours and even don’t allow any student to use bike and scooty without wearing of helmets and driving licenses issued by the competent authority.
The Zonal Education Officers have been asked to conduct surprise checks in and around schools ti discourage the emerging trend. [KNT]
