They added that four residential houses were damaged in Hawal area, while two residential houses were damaged in Rajbagh Srinagar.
An official said that the twin fire incidents occurred in Srinagar areas Monday, damaging six residential houses and leading to an injury to a fire-fighter as well.
Sharing details about the damage in Hawal, the official added that four residential houses, all double-storey, were damaged in the fire incident due to an electric short circuit.
Roofing, including the attic portion of all structures, and the second floor of one house were damaged in the fire. The rest of the property sustained indirect damage due to heat, smoke, and water, he said.
Regarding the fire incident at Rajbagh, he added that it also occurred due to a short circuit, and two houses were damaged there. “Roofing, including the attic portion and the first floor of a double-storey house were damaged in the fire. One side of the wooden eaves and windows with glass of a three-storey house were also partially damaged. However, the rest of the property sustained indirect damage due to heat, smoke, and water,” he added.
Moreover, the official added that during the fire fighting operation at Rajbagh, a fire-fighter identified as Javaid Ahmad Magray was injured and was shifted to a health center for the treatment.
