Jammu, Aug 1: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) proudly announces the commencement of a 15-day Swaachta Pakhwada campaign, running from August 1, 2024, through August 15, 2024. The campaign was officially inaugurated Thursday at Hari Singh Park, Jammu, by the esteemed JMC Commissioner and the District Commissioner (DC) Jammu.
The inauguration ceremony kicked off with a vibrant plantation drive, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability and cleanliness. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, Swaaha volunteers, and JMC workers, all coming together to promote the values of cleanliness and green living.
The Swaachta Pakhwada aims to engage the community in various activities to enhance the cleanliness and sanitation of Jammu city. The campaign will include tree planting, cleanliness drives, waste management workshops, and educational programs focused on environmental awareness.
JMC Commissioner, in his address, emphasized the importance of collective efforts in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
He highlighted the role of the community in achieving long-term sustainability and urged everyone to take ownership of their surroundings.
The DC of Jammu also spoke about the significance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of responsibility among citizens and improving the overall quality of life in the city.
This initiative was kick started in collaboration with Swaaha Resource Management Private Limited, whose volunteers played a pivotal role in organizing and participating in the various activities. Their dedication to promoting sustainability and hygiene has been instrumental in shaping the success of this campaign.
Throughout the 15 days of the campaign, residents are encouraged to participate in various activities and contribute to the success of Swaachta Pakhwada. The collaborative efforts of students, volunteers, and municipal workers are expected to make a significant impact on the cleanliness and environmental consciousness of Jammu.
