DLSA Srinagar organizes awareness programme on anti-ragging laws, drug abuse at SP HSS

Srinagar, Aug 7: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar Wednesday organized an awareness programme at S.P Higher Secondary School, Srinagar, about the critical issues of anti-ragging laws and drug abuse.
The awareness programme held under the guidance of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman of the DLSA Srinagar (PDJ, Srinagar), and under the supervision of Jahangir Ahmed Bakshi, Secretary, DLSA Srinagar,
The primary objective of this awareness initiative was to educate participants on the importance of anti-ragging laws and to address the rising concern of drug abuse among the participants. The awareness programme attracted a diverse audience, including students, and staff members, all eager to participate in this vital discussion.
Tasneem Kausar, Deputy LADC, DLSA Srinagar, emphasized the significance of anti-ragging laws. She highlighted the legal framework in place to safeguard students and foster a safe academic environment, stressing the collective responsibility of institutions and individuals in preventing ragging.
Advocate Bisma Khan, Panel Lawyer, DLSA Srinagar, further engaged the audience by shedding light on the pressing issue of drug abuse. Her remarks outlined the broader societal impacts of drug addiction and the importance of community involvement in prevention and rehabilitation efforts.
This awareness programme is a vital step towards combating these social issues affecting the youth.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to ask questions and engage in discussions, aiming to create a more informed and proactive society in confronting these challenges.
