Srinagar, Aug 12: The inhabitants of Zafran Colony, Sempora, Srinagar Monday urged the Chief Engineer Roads and Buildings (R&B) to macadamise the road from Iqbal Sector Lane 2 beyond Masjid-e-Muhamadiya on fast track basis.
Residents said that the lane 4 of Zafran Colony Iqbal Sector which leads to the masjid-e-Muhammadiya has been abandoned by the authorities for the past four years and has not been macdamised yet. “We urge the authorities, especially R&B Chief Engineer to take up the matter on priority and macadamise the road in the larger interests of the general public,” said Bashir Ahmed Shah, a resident of Iqbal Sector, Lane number 4.
He said they are facing a lot of difficulties while going to the masjid as the road gets inundated whenever it rains. “We have repeatedly urged the authorities to macadamize the road but to no avail. Our pleas fall on deaf ears. While adjacent roads in the nearby area of Balhama stand macdamised fully, ours has been left out without any reason,” said Adil Wani, another resident.
He said Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir must visit the spot himself and inspect the condition of the road. The residents also requested the local DDC member Khonmoh Er Aijaz Hussain to take up the matter of macadamisation of Lane number 4 Iqbal Sector Zafran Colony with the concerned officials including Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir for fast track disposal.
Er Aijaz Hussain said that he will take-up the matter with the concerned officials so that the issue stands resolved. “This is a genuine issue and should be resolved,” he said.
