Coronavirus: 3 deaths, 140 new cases in JK

Srinagar, Aug 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Tuesday witnessed three deaths and 140 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 1,293.
With three more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached 4,384 and 140 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 321,865.
Of the exact number of 321,865 cases, 199,918 are from Kashmir division and 121,947 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 140 new cases, 70 belong to Kashmir division while as 70 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 199,918 including 196,908 recoveries and 2,237 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 121,947 including 119,280 recoveries and 2,147 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,293 including 773 from Kashmir division and 520 from Jammu division.
With 98 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 316,188 which is 98.24 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 21 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 15 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 09 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 70 from Jammu division include 11 from Jammu, 03 from Udhampur, 19 from Rajouri, 15 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 00 from Samba, 02 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 05 from Ramban and 12 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Tuesday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 35.
Out of 03 Covid deaths reported today, one each death was reported from GMC Jammu, GMC Doda and GMC Rajouri.
As per officials figures, 71,460 positive cases including 833 deaths and 70,303 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,668 including 282 deaths and 23,239 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,917 including 22,636 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Budgam, 15,196 including 14,954 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,086 including 165 deaths and 13,889 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,330 including 16,088 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,474 cases including 9,361 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,933 including 9,797 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,269 including 11,122 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,585 including 5,519 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,793 including 51,548 recoveries and 1,139 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,303 including 11,137 recoveries and 136 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,957 including 10,668 recoveries and 226 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,295 including 7,056 recoveries and 127 deaths are from Doda, 9,264 including 9,109 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,123 including 7,001 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Samba, 4,650 including 4,574 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,267 including 6,140 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Poonch, 5,972 including 5,877 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Ramban and 6,323 including 6,170 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,888,099 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,749 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,293 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,521,326 persons have completed the surveillance period and 353,347 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 11,885,181 samples are available. Out of 11,885,181 the number of samples tested negative stands at 11,563,316 while as 321,865 have tested positive, among them 1,293 persons are active, 316,188 persons have recovered and 4,384 persons have died.
