ECI Observer presides over mega voter awareness programme at Pahalgam

Anantnag, Sep 4: A mega voter awareness programme was Wednesday presided over by the Election Commission of India appointed Observer at Pahalgam.
The event was organized by the District Election Office Anantnag, and was attended by the Returning Officer 47-Pahalgam, Nodal officer SVEEP, Assistant Director Tourism, CEO Pahalgam Municipal Committee, District Information officer among others.
The programme saw enthusiastic participation from students, tourists, media representatives, locals, and officials from various departments.
The highlights of the programme were white river rafting rally and an All Terrain Vehicle rally. Additionally, a cultural programme and a tug of war event were also held.
The primary objective of the event was to emphasize the importance of voting and to educate the public about the electoral process.
During the programme, cultural performances were presented by the different educational institutions. A highlight of the event was a ‘Nukkad Natak’ play presented by District Information Centre Anantnag which effectively conveyed the significance of voter participation and home voting in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Later, the observer flagged-off an ATV rally and a white river rafting rally which added an adventurous streak to the entire programme. The ATV rally went around in the market areas of Pahalgam and Participants in the rally enthusiastically raised slogans like ‘I Vote for Sure, Nothing like Voting,’ encouraging everyone to participate in the electoral process with zeal and enthusiasm.
Notably, this programme was a part of the SVEEP movement in Anantnag functioning under the overall guidance of the District Election Officer. The target of such intervention is to raise the electoral participation in the district.
