Srinagar, Sep 6: Police Station Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) Srinagar presented charge sheet against a terror module comprising of three locals and a Pakistani handler in a case related to radicalizing and motivating youth to join terrorist organizations.
A police spokesman said, “Police Station Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) Srinagar presented charge sheet (Challan) against a terror module comprising of: 1. Pakistani Handler/ terrorist Commander Illyas Kashmiri @ Gazi Hamas @ Haider S/O Atta Din R/O Bhawalpur, Pakistan, 2. Waseem Ahmad Sheikh S/O Gh Mohd R/o Kandoora, Beerwah,Budgam, 3. Junaid Ahmed Mir S/O Abdul Jabar Mir R/O Tekipora Lolab Kupwara and 4. Shabir Ahmed Gojri S/O Abdul Salam Gojri R/O Darbagh Harwan Srinagar before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, designated under NIA Act, at Srinagar in case FIR No. 07/2023 U/S 13,18,38, 39 U(P) Act, r/w 120-B IPC of P/S CIK.”
The case was registered in P/S CIK on an information received through reliable sources that a terrorist module in pursuance of criminal conspiracy is radicalizing/motivating potential youths to join terrorist organizations of LeT/AuGH/JeM on different social media applications/ platforms which includes encrypted messaging applications, police said.
During the course of investigation, it was established that a criminal conspiracy has been hatched by Pakistani Handler/ terrorist Commander Illyas Kashmiri @ Gazi Hamas @ Haider S/O Atta Din R/O Bhawalpur, Pakistan (a wanted criminal accused), Waseem Ahmad Sheikh S/O Gh Mohd R/o Kandoora, Beerwah, Budgam, Junaid Ahmed Mir S/O Abdul Jabar Mir R/O Tekipora Lolab Kupwar and Shabir Ahmed Gojri S/O Abdul Salam Gojri R/O Darbagh Harwan Srinagar and in pursuance of the conspiracy handler of this terror module was sharing criminal/seditious contents through encrypted messaging applications with above named accused in order to motivate, radicalize, lure gullible youths by variety of incentives to join terrorist ranks of LeT/AuGH/JeM, so as to extend logistic support to terrorist organizations for furthering their terrorist activities.
Besides it, these above accused persons were acting as OGWs of proscribed terrorist organizations of LeT/AuGH/JeM for carrying arms/ammunition and providing other logistic support to these terrorist organizations on the directions of handler namely Illyas Kashmiri @ Gazi Hamas @ Haider S/O Atta Din R/O Bhawalpur, Pakistan, police said.
“The said terrorist commander/ handler is known for recruiting the potential youths into terrorist ranks through different social media applications/platform which included encrypted messaging applications. A reward of rupees 03-Lacs has already been announced for giving information about the terrorist commander/ handler Illyas Kashmiri @ Gazi Hamas @ Haider S/O Atta Din R/O Bhawalpur, Pakistan,” police said.
Meanwhile, police advised the general public especially youth to use social media responsibly and be cautious of falling into traps set by the adversaries, also be vigilant against misinformation and potentially harmful contents or individuals who may have malicious intention.
