Baramulla Sep 10: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) leader and former Sangrama MLA, Shoaib Lone, expressed happiness over Engineer Rashid’s interim bail and enthusiasm about his return to AIP’s campaign.
Lone called it a potential game-changer for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
Rashid, Member Parliament and a popular political figure from Baramulla and leader of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), was granted interim bail by Delhi’s special NIA court in connection with a terror funding case.
The bail, effective until October 2, 2024, allows Rashid to campaign for the upcoming elections.
“The tiger is back, and we are ready to welcome him in a grand way,” said Shoaib Lone.
“It will be great to see the tiger back. Once he is here and joins the AIP campaign, you will see the entire atmosphere of the Assembly elections change,” he added.
Shoaib Lone, who is contesting from the Baramulla Constituency, emphasized the impact Rashid’s presence will have on the political dynamics of the region.
According to him, Rashid’s involvement in the campaign will energize voters and shift the narrative of the election.
“We will make a plan for his reception, and it will be a huge moment for Baramulla and the entire Jammu and Kashmir. Engineer Rashid has always had a strong connection with the people, and his return will remind everyone of his leadership and dedication to the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir,” Lone stated.
Rashid’s bail comes at a critical time, as the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections are set to be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1.
With Engineer Rashid now able to participate in the campaign, his supporters believe his presence will have a significant influence on the outcome of the elections.
The votes will be counted on October 8.
Engineer Rashid, known for his bold and outspoken political style, has been a key figure in Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape. His arrest in connection with a terror funding case has kept him out of the public eye for several years. However, his interim release on bail has reignited the hopes of his supporters, who see his return as a pivotal moment in the region’s politics.
Sources close to the AIP have confirmed that plans are already being made for Rashid’s grand reception, with supporters eager to rally behind their leader.
The party is expected to leverage Rashid’s popularity and influence in their campaign strategy for the upcoming elections.
