Kangan, Sep 21: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a massive rally in Kangan on Saturday, signalling a strong challenge to National Conference (NC), which has held this assembly seat for 60 years.
Iltija Mufti, daughter of Mehbooba Mufti joined candidate Syed Jammat Ali Shaheen for a road show that spanned from Lar to Gangengeer.
The event drew a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, showcasing the party’s growing presence in the region.
While talking to reporters, Iltija urged voters to support the PDP for the betterment of Ganderbal district and Jammu & Kashmir.
She emphasized her commitment to advocating for the people, particularly following the abrogation of Article 370, and challenged NC leader Omar Abdullah, questioning his record in Ganderbal.
While campaigning for Jammat Ali Shaheen, Iltija highlighted the developmental work achieved during her father’s tenure as Chief Minister. She criticized the NC for making hollow promises that have left the people in difficult circumstances.
“Change will come from Ganderbal, just as it did in 2002,” she said.
Shaheen, Iltija Mufti, and senior party leader Bashir Mir lead the procession through several villages. Participants waved PDP flags and chanted slogans in support of Jammat Ali.
