Police arrest two drug peddlers in Kupwara

Srinagar, Sep 24: Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Kupwara have arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A Police party of PS Lalpora at a checkpoint established in their jurisdiction, intercepted two individuals coming from Diver towards Lalpora. The have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Hassan Sheikh resident of Batpora Magam Handwara and Tahir Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Mohammad Sheikh resident of Tujer Sharief Sopore. During search, 60 grams of charas was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 67/2024 has been registered at Police Station Lalpora and investigation has been initiated.
General public is requested to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
