63.88% overall turnout recorded in J&K Assembly elections: ECI

Srinagar, Oct 3: The women voters have once again outnumbered the men electorates in the phase-III of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections in which a total of 69.69 percentages was recorded on Tuesday.
A total of 70.02 per cent women voters cast their ballots in the phase-III of elections while the 69.37 per cent male voters turned up at the polling booth earlier this week.
The Election Commission of India has issued revised voter turnout for the phase-III of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, revealing that a total of 69.69 per cent voter turnout was recorded on Tuesday.
As per the details, a total of 63.88 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the three-phased assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir including 64.68 per cent male voters and 63.04 per cent women and 38.24 per cent Third gender voters.
Moreover, in the third phase only, a total of 69.37 male voters turned up at the polling booths while 70.02 women voters and 43.86 per cent electors cast their ballots.
In the third phase, the highest voter turnout was recorded in Marh (SC) assembly segment where a total of 81.47 percentage was recorded followed by Chhamb with 80.34 per cent.
Out of the 40 assembly constituencies, the lowest turnout was recorded in Sopore constituency at 45.32 per cent followed by 53.90 per cent in Baramulla segment.
Pertinently, the three-phased assembly elections that started on September 18, 2024, culminated in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. In the three phases of elections, a total of 90 assembly segments underwent polling on September 18, September 25 and October 01, 2024.
The counting of votes will however take place on October 08, 2024.
