Srinagar, Oct 11: Khyber Cement’s ‘Driving Sustainability through Standards’ bike rally in association with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for World Standards Day 2024, commenced on 9th October 2024. The bike rally started from Srinagar and will conclude at the Siachen Base Camp. This initiative promotes organizational sustainability by implementing proactive monitoring measures that strengthen transparency and uphold ethical practices. Khyber’s participation in the event underscores its dedication to driving meaningful change, extending its impact beyond business.
The ceremony featured notable attendees, including Riaz Tramboo, Director of Operations at Khyber Cement; Manzoor Ahmad Mir, Head of Commercials, Legal & Regulatory Affairs at Khyber Cement; and Pankaj Atri, Joint Director of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Jammu and Kashmir.
Riaz Tramboo said, “On World Standard Day, we at Khyber cement are very proud to be associated with this initiative. Since day one, our endeavour has been that our quality should not be compromised, customers should get value for their money. We believe in providing quality to our customers because they trust us.” Further requesting people to be conscious of the quality of the products they sell while being consistent.
Pankaj Atri, Joint Director of Bureau of Indian Standards Jammu & Kashmir Branch said, “Through this programme, we want to take the quality revolution happening in the country to every nook and corner. At the Bureau of Indian Standards we aim to spread awareness through this bike rally. We have collaborated with Khyber for this event as we resonate with their work ethics and commitment to providing quality.” He also urged the customers to be quality-conscious while purchasing.
The riders participating in the bike rally, who began their journey from Srinagar, traveled to Khyber Cement’s factory at Khonmoh, where 80 Khyber employees, along with representatives from the Bureau of Indian Standards, took the oath together. The oath taken by employees commits them to consistently support standardization and advocate for the use of ‘standardized’ products among others.
The oath-taking ceremony served as a powerful reminder for all to prioritize the quality of the products. This collective commitment will amplify the mission of this unique initiative, enhancing its impact and reach. It is also a testament for the manufacturers to produce standardised products while serving their customers.
Khyber Cement and Bureau of Indian Standards together through this initiative want to foster an atmosphere which ensures standardised and quality products for the customers. Khyber Cement has consistently focused on integrating sustainable practices and community development into its core values and initiatives. As the riders embark on their journey to the Siachen Base Camp, this event serves as an impactful reminder of the positive impact businesses can achieve when they embrace global sustainability goals.
