Srinagar, Oct 12: In a landmark development aimed at empowering youth with practical skills and vocational training, the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with K.M. Technical Training and Management Institute (KMTTMI), Srinagar. This collaboration aims to provide affordable skill training opportunities to students across the region, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds.
The event was attended by several distinguished personalities, including PSAJK President G.N. Var, Director and HoD of KMTTMI, Er. Juneed Yawar, PSAJK General Secretary Faisal Islam Mir, Parvaiz Ahmad (Member KMTTMI), and Manzoor Ahmad (Manager PSAJK). This MoU underscores a mutual commitment to equip students with industry-relevant skills, thereby enhancing their employability and future prospects.
Under the terms of the MoU, PSAJK will identify and refer eligible students for various vocational courses at KMTTMI. These students will benefit from structured fee rebates designed to make technical education more accessible to all sections of society. The initiative is expected to create numerous employment opportunities for students upon graduation.
PSAJK President G.N. Var said, “We are dedicated to closing the skill gap in our society, and this partnership with KMTTMI is a significant step toward that goal. By offering students an opportunity to gain technical expertise, we are ensuring that they are prepared for the competitive job market. This collaboration is about shaping the future of our youth and fostering economic independence in the region.”
Aijaz Ahmad Kitab, Chairman of KMTTMI, added, “KMTTMI’s mission has always been to provide every individual with the opportunity to build a successful career. Our partnership with PSAJK will make quality technical education more accessible, particularly for those who need it most. Our extensive collaborations with top companies provide students with industry-level training that goes beyond the classroom, empowering them with skills that are immediately applicable in the workplace.”
PSAJK General Secretary Faisal Islam Mir commented, “This MoU is not just about providing education; it is about creating opportunities for a better tomorrow. By collaborating with KMTTMI, we are ensuring that students from even the remotest parts of Jammu and Kashmir can access industry-relevant training and gain the skills necessary to secure dignified livelihoods.”
Er. Juneed Yawar, Director and HoD of KMTTMI, remarked, “KMTTMI is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of the youth. Our courses are designed to meet the evolving needs of industries, and with the support of our esteemed industry partners, we are confident that our students will continue to excel in their chosen careers. This partnership with PSAJK will allow us to broaden our impact and reach even more deserving students.”
Several students from KMTTMI shared their success stories, emphasizing how the institute’s training programs helped them secure employment and achieve financial independence.
“The hands-on training I received at KMTTMI, particularly through their industry partnerships, played a crucial role in helping me secure my current job,” shared one student.
Another student expressed, “Thanks to KMTTMI, I now have the confidence and skills to run my own workshop. The practical experience I gained through training with leading companies has been a game-changer for me.”

Its extensive network of national and international partnerships includes companies such as TVS, Honda, MG Motors, Nissan, Piaggio, Eicher, Honda Power Products, Polaris, VST Tillers Tractors Ltd., Exide, and Kinetic Green Power Solutions. These collaborations ensure that students receive hands-on experience with the latest technologies, preparing them to face real-world challenges across various industries.
