High hopes with Omar-led Govt

The hopes are getting even higher after the new elected government took over in Jammu and Kashmir as the newly sworn-in chief minister Omar Abdullah has taken crucial steps in just two days, which appeased the people to a large extent. Even before assuming the office of first chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar rang the Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, seeking an end to the VIP culture on the roads for him as he appealed him to ensure ‘no green corridors’ during his movement on the road to ensure there is no inconvenience to the commuters on the roads. On the second day, the chief minister reached the fire affected people in Warwan area of Kishtwar where at least 70 families were rendered homeless due to the fire incident. During his visit to the area, Omar promised an adequate relief to the affected families so that they could start afresh after facing such a desisting fire incident. Such measures are seen as a big step by the people across Jammu and Kashmir, who are pinning a hope in the first elected government in the Union Territory as they expect their woes to end now. As the new chief minister has taken people-friendly measures in just two days of period, it would be interesting to see what more actions and measures will be taken by the present government for the wellbeing of the people across Jammu and Kashmir after the six years of President’s rule in the Union Territory.
