Kashmir’s soul incomplete without Noon Chai

The modern technology might have brought relief to the people and eased their work as well, but at the same time, it has brought a challenge to the society as well, as the youngsters are indulging different evils that have made livelihood miserable for their families. In recent years, Kashmir has witnessed an alarming rise in online gambling, where the people, especially youngsters are utilizing their hard earned money in a bid to find some shortcuts of earning, but in return they lose their money, leading to the sufferings of their families as well. This modern-day menace, easily accessible through smartphones, has quietly taken root across the region, impacting individuals, families, and communities. What was once a casual form of entertainment has evolved into a crisis, drawing many unsuspecting Kashmiris into a web of financial hardship and addiction? Online gambling platforms are marketed as an exciting and risk-free way to earn money quickly. However, these platforms mask the dangers and are deliberately designed to encourage continuous, often compulsive, engagement. The situation is particularly alarming for Kashmir’s youth. Unemployment in the region, coupled with the allure of easy money, makes young people especially vulnerable to these platforms. The economic impact of online gambling addiction extends beyond the individual. Addressing this issue will require a multifaceted approach. Local authorities must recognize the severity of the problem and explore ways to regulate or even restrict access to online gambling platforms, particularly for younger users. Public awareness campaigns are also crucial to inform people of the dangers associated with online gambling. At this juncture, the people must be educated in this regard so that there would be a positive outcome and the end of this tendency can be witnessed as well.
