Bandipora, Nov 4: A disturbing incident has shaken the education community in north Kashmir’s Bandipora, where the headmaster of a government primary school in the Koli Mohallah has been accused of physically assaulting a male student, causing damage to his eye with a stick.
The alleged assault occurred in the classroom today, police said.
Sources said that the headmaster, who has a history of similar behavior, has been booked under sections 115(2) and 351(2) of the law, while an FIR vide number 63/2024 was registered against him at police station Pathkoot Bandipora.
Police took cognizance of the matter after the boy’s parents lodged a formal complaint. The parents also apprised the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora of the issue.
The victim has been identified as Mujeeb Ahmad Lone who is a student of Class 4. [KNT]
