Exams upto 9th standard from Nov 25, SED issues uniform date sheet

Srinagar, Nov 9: The School Education Department Saturday issued a uniform date sheet for summative assessment from classes 1st Primary to 9th standard for all schools.
The summative exams of these classes will commence from Nov-25 and will culminate December-12.
Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in an official communiqué said, “The question papers shall be set by the concerned and individual schools as per student evaluation and assessment scheme keeping in view the competencies, curricular goals and learning outcomes of the students as envisaged in holistic progress card.”
“The HoIs shall ensure all requisite arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the examinations,” reads the official communiqué.
It also said that the Head of Institutions shall also ensure the answer papers are evaluated in time so that the results could be declared by or before December-15.
Earlier, the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Tassaduq Hussain Mir has said that it will conclude student-friendly and competency based annual exams for classes 1st to 9th by second mid December.
Speaking to the reporters DSEK said, “We are going to release a uniform date sheet of examinations for classes 1st to 9th.”
“We urge the students not to take any sort of stress with regard to the incompletion of syllabi. We are aware of the syllabus and have almost completed 90 percent of the syllabi,” he said.
DSEK further said, “These will be the school bases exams. There is nothing to worry about. Students are advised not be stressed. There will be student-friendly and competency based exams.”
