Preventing losses

Preventing the loss of precious lives must be the priority of every single individual and it has to be ensured by taking preventive measures like judicious use of gadgets and other related items. In yet another instance of shock, the six persons of a family including two minors lost their lives in a fire incident at Kathua while four others were injured in the incident. The incident has reportedly taken place due to a lamp, which engulfed the room and led to the loss of precious lives in Shiva Nagar Kathua. The incident comes at a time when the government has been making every possible effort to prevent the loss of lives in different incidents including fire incidents. However, the incident has sent a shock wave across Jammu and Kashmir, prompting the administration including Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to express their grief and condolences with the bereaved family. But, one needs to understand that keeping the gadgets and other things open during the night hours can prove detrimental for everyone, thus it needs to be understood that the judicious use of all the gadgets can help in saving the precious lives. Therefore, the people, especially those living in Kashmir, should learn lessons from the Kathua incident and ensure such incidents are not repeated in the Valley as witnessed in the past. The judicious use of gadgets would not only help in ensuring better electricity supply to them, but would also help in preventing the loss of precious lives during the winter period when the use of electric and heating gadgets goes up.
