We can’t go forward until we have to accept or face any untoward or unexpected sort of risks in our life. Risk is always in front of us. We have to live within it, and we have to find solutions. Keeping away from any untoward is not the solution. At our home we are used to using grinders and electric appliances and living under gigantic houses without having fear of their collapsing because we know we have taken all precautionary measures before its construction, and every machine in our home is safe because we know we have taken precautions and operate it in a very well-mannered way and expect or predict that it will have the tendency to stop functioning when there is any technical glitch.
Accidents are some events that everyone never likes to happen in any circumstances because they hurt and ruin our lives and property. Accidents are unfavorable and unliked events happening in our surroundings. Today it is not impossible to live without technology like transport, whether it is aerial, land, or water mode transport. The risk of accident in every mode of transport is expected and can be minimized by taking proper precautionary measures.
Transport plays an important role in developing a country’s growth and generates employment for millions of people: we are experiencing that there are gigantic machines working on national highways building road connectivities for our betterment and providing great and comfortable transport that runs on the roads, carrying us from one place to another. There are people who are working in construction companies like ERA, Beacon, and BRO. India has almost 64 lakh kilometers of road connectivity, and Delhi is the UT that is at the top, where we have maximum length road connectivities. So this is not possible to stop all such modes of transport, construction of road connectivities, bridges, and runways to stop sudden accidents. If we think for a while about what will happen if all the machines stop working in hospitals, educational institutions, railways, airports, etc., it means life will be so boring and hectic we have to utilize our own energy to reach from one place to another; we need manpower everywhere, and the risk of accidents may rise.
How can we minimize accidents in our country?
First of all, precautions are necessary to tackle all this. Untrained, unskilled mechanics and drivers are never to be allowed to drive any mode of transport. Machines are designed with given instructions, which means we have to follow the instructions to operate any type of machine; negligence is never acceptable and will cause accidents and cause the reason for deaths.
1. Proper checking of our vehicle; no technical glitch will be acceptable in any circumstances.
2. Drivers must be trained and expert in their professions, not only in how to operate, like from rest to motion; drivers have the knowledge of the roads, conventional signs, speed limit, when to overtake, and how to deal with unskilled drivers without harming them.
3. Road connectivity must be as per the government rules, and technical staff of the concerned department should always be there while constructing any road connectivity or repairment of any road; potholes should repair within no time.
4. Traffic rules should be followed, and all the documents should be updated.
5. During winters in areas where the temperature goes below zero, roads must be cleared, and where there is a chance of any uncertainty, the vehicle moments should be taken under consideration.
6. Advanced technology should be implemented everywhere.
7. Minors never ask to drive any vehicle; while driving, patience is the main thing to keep in mind.
This is very fortunate that in the Kashmir Valley, the department of traffic is making great efforts to minimize the accidents, and the accident rate should be zero percent in the future. Insha Allah, hope.
Lately implemented cutting-edge technology.
With the passing of every day, we are observing that the traffic department is getting more equipped and making great efforts to minimize the accidents in the valley; most importantly, Srinagar and national highways remain always at priority. Srinagar is known as the heart of the Kashmir Valley. Every amendment is first implemented from Srinagar, then all corners in the valley.
What is ITMS?
It stands for intelligent traffic management system. Where there comes a word, intelligent, it means it has to deal with machines, and most of the time machines are always accurate and precise until having any technical glitch. So all riders and drivers are strictly directed to obey the traffic rules and never think to go under any violation. Any violator has to undergo strict laws and is punishable.
ITMS may issue an e-chalan to violators like
1. Rash driving.
2. Wrong parking in front of hospital gates, public places, etc.
3. Seat belt.
4. Both rider and pillion without helmet.
5. Use of mobile phone while driving.
6. Without a license or having no license.
The cameras are installed at highway ramps and intersections, and there would be no human interference with traffic violators, so all drivers and riders are requested to be vigilant, be responsible, and coordinate with the traffic department to implement ITMS.
